The Big Event, February 2, 1998 - Kaitlyn's Birthday

After my first prenatal
appointment, we were told my due date to be February 2, 1998. After two
separate ultrasounds done by two different doctors, they decided that 'the
baby' was to small and my due date was pushed forward two weeks to
February 16.
Going into the last trimester, I started to develop high blood pressure so my doctor started watching me a little closer. I had a scheduled check-up appointment on February 2 and after my vital signs were taken, my doctor came in just a few minutes later and said "Go on over and I'll be there shortly". She meant go over to the hospital, my blood pressure was high so she wanted to induce labor. So Jason and I went home to grab my bag and call our folks & friends - Kaitlyn was to arrive on the original due date after all. This picture was taken in my hospital room, preparing for the big event! |

After only 5 hours of labor, Kaitlyn Janeria was born at 10:01p.m. Her middle name is after her great-grandma Janeria. This is the first picture, of many, taken of our little girl. |
